Yams Day: How We Remember A$AP Yams

A$AP Yams started this collective, and every year we remember him with Yams Day. Here is what it is, how it has grown, and which designs in the store carry it.

What is Yams Day?

Yams Day is a tribute concert held on the anniversary of A$AP Yams' death on 18 January 2015. The first one took place in 2016 at Terminal 5 in New York. Part of the proceeds goes to the Always Strive and Prosper Foundation, set up by his mother.

How has it grown?

2017: the concert moved to the Theater at Madison Square Garden.

2019: the show at Barclays Center had a wrestling theme.

2020: the fifth Yams Day.

Which designs carry it?

  • Yams Day 2021 Harlem: A$AP YAMS in heavy type over a pink splash, with a circled Y on the back.
  • Psychworld: a purple chrome script, with "In Loving Memory.. Yam's Day 2021" on the back.
  • Yams 1:18 V: a painted arena scene with a YAMS 1:18 sign, in the spirit of the wrestling-themed show, and a big lilac V on the back.
  • Always Strive and Prosper: the motto behind the A$AP name, written by hand.

And the music?

"Yamborghini High", from Cozy Tapes Vol. 1: Friends, is a tribute to Yams, and the whole album is dedicated to him.

Every design comes on tees, long sleeves, crewnecks and hoodies, with kids' and youth sizes too.
